Client Portal

At Lurie & Co., protecting our clients’ privacy and the security of their personal and financial information has always been critically important. Our policies and procedures are designed to ensure that this information is protected, whether it is maintained electronically or on paper.  With that in mind we offer a client portal which is available through our website.  

As you know at Lurie & Co. our vision has always been strong customer service combined with the newest technological advances.  This ensures that we are not only efficient, but are also providing a level of service that is only found at the top level of our profession.  Client satisfaction is our highest priority and we feel this program is a tremendous asset in ensuring our clients are able to exchange sensitive information in a secure environment. 

What is Client Portal?

The client portal is a web based application that utilizes SSL (Secure Socket Layer) technology to create an encrypted connection.  If you currently do any banking or investing online‚ you are using a portal. It will also allow the quick and easy transfer of data files that are too large to send via e-mail such as QuickBooks.  Documents can be uploaded, reviewed and saved in a more collaborative environment between you and our firm. 

In addition to the exchange of documents, we can publish electronic copies of all tax returns, correspondence and financial statements.  You will now have 24/7 access to all your records should you need an electronic copy for attorneys or banks.  

Please note, records will be available on your portal for a three year period, after which they will be removed.  We suggest you save a copy to your computer for future reference.

Who has access to your portal?                  

Only third parties to whom you grant access can view, retrieve or post documents.  You can approve and set up as many users as you would like, but please keep in mind they have access to everything in your portal.  All documents posted can be viewed by our staff.

Submission of tax documents through our client portal or via encrypted email

As a safe method of exchanging information, we encourage the use of our portal or as attachments to an email using our new encrypted software with a secure link.

Please follow these guidelines when sending us your year-end tax information electronically:

  • When sending your information please upload/send all of it at once instead of daily as you receive it.  That way you can check the information against your organizer and make sure you have received everything we need to prepare an accurate return.
  • Upload/send PDF documents only.  Unfortunately, photographs do not always print large enough to read the information accurately.  
  • When uploading your documents to the portal, you can upload them one at a time.  Then, once all your documents are in the queue you can click submit and they will all upload together.  This will keep the emails of documents received to a minimum.  
  • Once we retrieve the information from your portal you will receive an approval email.   
  • Don’t forget to upload/send your completed organizer/questionnaire, signed engagement letter, bank information and method of delivery form.  
  • Once you have uploaded or emailed all your information, contact Joanne at jmulligan@luriecpas.com so we know your return is now ready to be prepared.
